ABA Therapy

ABA Therapy at home settings

ABA is typically implemented in the home with a team of professionals, including a behavior analyst, therapists, and parents. The behavior analyst designs and implements an individualized plan consisting of reinforcement strategies to help the child learn new skills and reduce or eliminate problem behaviors. Therapists work directly with the child, providing opportunities to practice the skills taught by the behavior analyst while also monitoring progress. Parents are responsible for implementing all of the techniques recommended by the ABA team in their home environment and can expect regular communication with their ABA team about their child's development. With consistent implementation of ABA interventions at home, children can make significant progress toward achieving their goals.

Building Blocks

ABA services at school settings

A BCBA can support a school district by providing assessment, consultation, and intervention services to help students reach their learning goals. They can also provide professional development opportunities to educators who work with special education students, as well as resources and support to families of special needs students.

Additionally, they can collaborate with school administrators to create behavior plans that focus on positive reinforcement and social skills development for students. Finally, BCBAs can assist in implementing evidence-based practices throughout the district so that all schools use best practices when working with special needs students.

Teacher and Student

ABA therapy in assisted living homes.

ABA services in assisted living homes typically focus on helping residents manage challenging behaviors and difficulties related to their age or disability. Therapists may work with individuals one-on-one, in groups, or with family members to help them develop communication, problem solving, and self-help skills. They also provide clinical strategies for managing behaviors that may be disruptive to other residents or staff.
